my three favourite ladies

Style Icons

Lua P - I'm not actually familiar with her whole name, I've just written what it says on her lookbook. I came across her on tumblr and ever since then I've been obsessed with her blog, I love every single one of her outfits, especially the one she's wearing in the photo above. The way she mixes vintage and modern items is amazing and have inspired me to try different styles of outfits myself and I blame her for my most recent blow to my bank account. If you're interested check out her blog here :)

Daisy Lowe - Everybody knows my obsession with Daisy Lowe, not only as a model but for being an amazing role model and a spokesperson for loving your natural body shape. Being a curvier woman herself, it gives me a good idea of what clothes will suit my figure. I love her vintage outfits and if I could steal somebody's wardrobe, it would definitely be hers! This outfit is possibly my favourite outfit of all time, it makes her body look amazing and suits her trademark dark hair so, so much. I'm not sure if Matt Smith is with her anymore but if he is, he's the luckiest man alive!

Sky Ferreira - If I could look like anyone it would be singer/model Sky Ferreira! I adore her hair at the moment, if I could pull it off I would be in the salon getting the exact replica of it. She wears the most beautiful outfits and always wear clothes with make her figure look amazing. The above is probably my favourite outfit worn by her, she looks so beautiful and the hair and makeup just completes the look. I love her casual looks, they have such a 'grungy' feel to them and are bang on trend.

Winter Wishlist

DRESS - MOTEL ALI SKATER DRESS IN BLACK
NECKLACE - AMETHYS PENDANT

BAG - ASOS SUEDE STUDDED BACKPACK
SOCKS - CROCHET TRIM ANKLE SOCKS
SHOES - JODIE BUCKLE MARY JANE HEELS

You can never, ever go wrong with a bit of black, well in this case a LOT of black. I absolutely adore this dress and as soon as I get paid at the end of the month I'm going to cradle it in my arms and never let it go. I love how it pulls you in at the waist, giving a lovely silhouette which is great for me when i'm a much curvier girl that the girl in the photo. The bag and the shoes are both made out of leather, as i'm a vegetarian I wouldn't be able to purchase the items as lovely as they both are, but they've given me inspiration until I can find animal friendly alternatives. I actually own the necklace and I'm in love with it, I haven't taken it off since it arrived in the post yesterday, empty casket are an amazing company, I literally have to restrain myself from buying all their items, they're all just so cute. I know winter is coming up so to wrap up I'd throw on a camo/khaki jacket and a beanie hat.

As far as makeup is concerned, I'd go with my statement flicked eyeliner and add some colour with bold red lipstick (original, i know), as for my hair, I'd either go for a messy up do or down with messy waves :)

Colour B4 Review

I used Colour B4 (Extra Strength) the other day in order to help me remove lots and I mean LOTS of unwanted colour. I hadn't dyed my hair since.. I think it was June because I dyed it a week before I went on holiday and it went really, really dark. I decided to give my hair a rest for a couple of months as I'm putting in a real effort to grow my hair and attacking it with hair dye after hair dye surely isn't going to help the process.  After a while my hair faded into many different colours and for some weird reason it was really starting to get me down.

I've used Colour B4 about 2-3 times before and I've been disappointed, although I'm not sure whether is due to the fact that they have changed formulas or if I was doing the process completely wrong. When I've it in the past it's either done nothing at all or worked and then faded back to the old colour after a few days. After researching about ways to stop these two things from happening, I slapped it all on my head and wrapped it all up in a plastic bag (cling film would have worked better but we didn't have any in!) and used a hairdryer on my hair every 10 - 15 minutes or so to speed up the process. I should warn you that it does smell a little bit of egg but as long as you throw the product away immediately and wash your clothes afterwards then it should fade pretty quickly. Rinsing away the 'hair molecules' meant standing in the shower for at least 40 minutes but it is SO important that you do this as it gets rid of all of the crap in your hair. The buffer they provide smells a like apples which is pleasant, especially compared to the eggy smell! It is best to use a good conditioner once your finally finished as it does leave your hair pretty dry but don't worry, it doesn't leave lasting damage on your hair at all.

All in all, I'm really happy with the results, I started out with really patchy, dark brown hair and ended up with a light brown/ginger colour which I am extremely content with as it's easy to dye over (examples are below). I would strongly recommend this product and I know you may think it's quite expensive at £11.99 but that's only a fraction of the price you would have to pay at a salon and it works just as well. You should always take into consideration about the length/thickness of your hair or how many times you've dyed your hair in the past because in these cases it would be best to get two packs of Colour B4. If that's a little bit out of your price range, Boots or Superdrug have offers on this product quite frequently or check ebay! Anyway, I've hoped I've helped at least a tiny amount and if you try out this product try the tips I've given and make sure you follow the instructions to a tee!

Good Luck!

first ever post

After fiddling around with the settings with what seems like forever, I've finally decided on a layout that I actually like. I don't think I've put this much effort into a website since Myspace, hopefully this will much much less 'scene' and just generally much less embarrassing. I think I'm just going to post a review for Colour B4 this evening as I'm really pleased with the results and will give me a chance to get used to this :)
